The school follows a systematic mentoring system as a way of lending extra support to our students by outside-the-classroom interactions, tutoring, skills training and listening to their perspectives and creating a sense of belonging. Over time, the school mentoring programme has proved successful in bringing positive changes in the holistic development of the students. NWIS mentors also help pupils to overcome behavioural, social or emotional problems that are affecting their learning.

NWIS counsellors serve a vital role in maximizing student success by facilitating healing through a process of genuine dialogue with them .They help all students in the areas of academic achievement and personal/social development ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow. Our school counsellor is able to understand, respect and work within the framework of the student’s world rather than forcing the students to fit into their values. By moulding thoughtful, empathetic, and forward thinking in students, we provide them with a greater opportunity for success in all walks of life. Counsellors maintain a close working relationship with the teachers, and administration to provide a more vivid picture of each student’s strengths and areas of improvement.

Work with all students to encourage a safe school climate of trust and respect
